Southern Illinois Dressage Classic – September 18, 2010
Please mark your calendars for the Southern Illinois Dressage Classic on Sept. 18 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Du Quoin, Illinois. (See the EVENTS page for a prize list and entry forms) The Southern Illinois Dressage Classic is a wonderful opportunity to show your horse in a fun, low-key environment at a lovely show facility with convenient stabling and amenities. The show will offer the traditional dressage fare as well as classes for gaited horses, musical freestyles and untraditional tack.
OPENING DATE is quickly approaching - Aug. 1 for LEDA members and Aug. 8 for non-members - and the show typically fills up, so get those entries ready to send in!
LODGING - The Fairgrounds Inn (888-542-5001 or www.fairgroundsinn.com) is offering a special rate of $72 per night for the show. Please mention the Southern Illinois Dressage Classic when making your reservation to take advantage of this special rate!
SATURDAY LUNCH - A free lunch for all exhibitors, friends, and families in exchange for a small donation (bleach, paper towels, kitty litter or cash) for a local no-kill animal shelter that provides a new chance for horses, dogs and cats.
FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL - Friday, September 17, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Alongi’s Restaurant, DuQuoin, Illinois. Sue Hughes will give an educational lecture at 7 p.m.
Includes hot appetizers and other refreshments.
Open to all LEDA members, show and clinic participants.

VOLUNTEER/COMPETITORS PARTY on Saturday during the show from 3-7 p.m., located near the secretary’s office. Sponsored by K&M Pferdehof, www.kmpferdehof.com.
SIDC TEAM COMPETITION: Riders may enter the team competition until 7 p.m. on Sept. 17. For more information see the SIDC prize list.
